As Business Interruption loss adjuster Marcel handles fire and product liability losses in almost any industry: wholesale, retail, services industry, production and transportation. He joined Context in 2009, shortly after the company started its operations.
Marcel developed a number of analytic tools for the review of business interruption claims. These tools are used by the BI-team for the analysis of claims on the one hand and active follow-up during the loss period on the other hand, as they comprise detailed forecasts that can be compared to actual results during the indemnity period. In this way, the expected ultimate outcome can be actively monitored and insurers can be updated accurately during the process.
Also, he is frequently asked for business interruption exposure / risk analyses and continuity planning for and within large and complex businesses.
Since 2017, Marcel is treasurer of the RBBC (‘Rotterdam Bourse Fire Club’).
